Growing up, I always had admiration for architecture. The idea of designing structures, shaping skylines, and bringing visions to life through blueprints fascinated me. It felt like the perfect path, especially since I have a passion for art and design. However, as I got older, I had to make a practical decision—one that balanced my dreams with the reality of my situation.

 

The Love for Architecture

Architecture has always been more than just buildings to me. It’s a fusion of art and functionality, a discipline that requires both creativity and technical skills. I envisioned myself designing beautiful and innovative spaces, pushing the limits of what’s possible in the world of construction. But despite my enthusiasm, I had to consider the financial and academic challenges that came with pursuing an architecture degree.

The Reality of Financial Instability

One of the biggest hurdles I faced in choosing a career path was financial instability. Architecture is a lengthy and expensive course that demands years of education, costly materials, and countless sleepless nights dedicated to intricate designs. I knew that pursuing this dream might put a strain on my resources, making it difficult to sustain myself and my family.

The Logical Choice: IT

That’s when I started exploring other fields, and IT stood out as a practical and promising alternative. While it may seem far from architecture, it still allows me to be creative—just in a different way. IT is a dynamic field with endless opportunities, and the demand for tech professionals continues to grow. The ability to work remotely, earn a stable income, and even integrate my artistic skills into web design, animation, and digital development made it a compelling choice.

 

No Regrets, Just a Different Path

Although I didn’t take the traditional route into architecture, I found a way to blend my passions with the career I chose. IT has given me a stable foundation while still allowing me to express my creativity in different forms. Whether it's coding, designing user interfaces, or even exploring virtual reality, I can still incorporate my love for art and design into my work.

Sometimes, life doesn’t go as planned, but that doesn’t mean we have to abandon our passions. Instead, we adapt, find new ways to grow, and make the most out of every opportunity.
